SANDY, Ore. (AP) – An 80-year-old woman spent the night trapped in bed after a tree fell on her home east of Portland.
The Sandy Fire District says it was alerted to the predicament Wednesday morning by a neighbor who had gone to check on her. When firefighters arrived, the woman told them she had a few scratches but wasn’t hurt.
Neighbors in St. John’s are desperately trying to keep a 150-year-old Oak Tree in place in the Cathedral Neighborhood. It has a big crack in it and the city arborist has issued the owner a permit to chop it down. PORTLAND — Tree trimmers are staying busy after strong winds throughout the metro area on Tuesday caused trees to fall onto power lines, cars and whatever was in their path.
