Roll-Over Crash Closes I-5 Downtown

PORTLAND — The northbound lanes of Interstate 5 in the heart of downtown were closed for nearly an hour early Wednesday afternoon after a roll-over crash between the Morrison and Burnside bridges.

One woman was reportedly rescued from the wreckage.  Traffic backed up for miles in all directions.  The crash was cleared by 2:00.

Heavy Rain and Wind Expected In Portland Metro

PORTLAND – Heavy rain and wind is expected in the Portland metro area over the next two days.

Forecasters say up to an inch of rain could fall in the valley on Wednesday into Thursday, with 5 to 6 inches falling in the mountains.

Man Stabs Roommate to Death In North Portland

PORTLAND — A man who police say stabbed his roommate to death in their North Portland home early Tuesday afternoon has been arrested.

51-year-old Stephen Kovacs is charged with murder and unlawful use of a weapon.  He’s accused of killing 56-year-old Peter John at their residence on North Haight Avenue and Jessup.

Shed Fire Destroys Families Belongings

A families shed went up in flames this evening in Northeast Portland. Firefighters arrived to find the large medal shelf fully engulfed on Southeast 111th and Inslee.  Battalion Chief Chris Babcock with Portland Fire talked with the owners.
