Portland Water Bureau Tries Out Earthquake Resistant Water Pipe

PORTLAND — An earthquake resistant water pipe widely used in Japan is being given a test drive by the Portland Water Bureau. Its official name is the Earthquake Resistant Ductile Iron pipe. It has moveable joints and has been used in Japan for 45 years with zero failures in earthquakes.
