Back to School for Portland Public School Students

PORTLAND, Ore. — Portland Public School students begin the 2015-2016 school year Thursday.  The school year is starting early this year, well ahead of Labor Day.

More Mediaton for Teachers Union & PPS

Another round of mediation is schedule for Tuesday between Portland Public Schools and the Portland Association of Teachers.

The union is threatening to strike, starting February 20th, unless an agreement is met on a new contract.  Issues still remain between the two parties, including class size, salary increases and early retirement incentives.
