Arizona Governor Jan Brewer has vetoed a Republican bill designed to give added protection from lawsuits to people who assert their religious beliefs in refusing service to gays. The proposed legislation subjected Arizona to blistering criticism from major corporations and political leaders from both parties and set off a national debate over gay rights and religious freedom.

Portland City Commissioner Steve Novick Apologizes for $300,000,000 Snow Plow Estimate

Man Saves Arlene Schnitzer from Choking

Tom Smith heard a woman choking while he was having lunch at a Wilsonville Burger King.  So, he went over, saw that she was turning blue and administered the Heimlich Maneuver.  She managed to recover and went on his way.

Vancouver Police Arrest Deadly Hit & Run Suspect

Around 5:00 pm Wednesday Vancouver Police announced the arrest of 27-year-old Brandon C. Smith for his connection to a fatal hit and run on January 19th.  They say Smith agreed to come in with his attorney.
