I-84 EB Back-open in The Gorge After Short but Powerful Storm

PORTLAND, Ore. —  ODOT opened I-84 EB after Noon Wednesday after a 15-hour closure.  Strong winds and rain knocked down more than 20 trees along the freeway.

Lost Hiker Found in the Gorge

PORTLAND, Ore. – A Multnomah County, Ore., sheriff’s spokesman says a hiker who reported she was lost near Yeon State Park in the Columbia Gorge has been found.

Lt. Steve Alexander said the Salem woman, in her 20s, was in good condition and was being escorted to safety late Thursday night.

Autistic Teen Lost in the Gorge Rescued

An autistic teenager lost in the Columbia River Gorge was found this morning. The 16-year-old hiker  got separated from his group around Horsetail Falls on Saturday December 29th. Search efforts on the ground and in the air were complicated by decreasing temperatures and visibility overnight.
