Cover Oregon Director Hands in Resignation

Rocky King says he will step down after his three-month medical leave is up on March 5th.  The Director of Cover Oregon has been medical leave since early December.  He is the second Cover Oregon leader to quit.  Chief Information Officer for the Oregon Health Authority Carolyn Lawson resigned last month.

Mount Hood Snowpack Brings Bad News

Hydrologists have completed their snow survey for Mt Hood and say we are well below average.  Here is the latest message and results from the NRCS Oregon Snow Survey.

At the Mount Hood snow course, we measured 12.4 inches of water content and the snow was 28 inches deep. This 12.4 inches of water stored in the snowpack today …

Ducks Handle Longhorns in Alamo Bowl

On the strength of their defense, the #10 Oregon Ducks rolled the Texas Longhorns 30-7 in the Alamo Bowls in San Antonio, Texas.  The Ducks enjoyed 2 TD’s on defense, while Quarterback Marcus Mariota handled the offense with 133 yards on the ground and 253 through the air.

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer Trojan Horse in NW Portland

A giant Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer Trojan Horse has turned up in Northwest Portland at 10th and Northrup.  A man named Frank Mabry is taking credit for it.

There’s a little sign on the front asking people to leave warm blankets around.  He’ll put them inside for safe keeping and distribute to people in need.
