String Of Fires Hits Bend
Arson has not been ruled out as the cause of six fires early today within a block of each other in Bend. Two churches, two homes, a garage and car were damaged. The most extensive damage was to Trinity Episcopal Church on NW Wall Street. Fire crews from neighboring communities responded to the fires. But because of freshly fallen snow, the fire rigs could only travel at 15 to 20 miles per hour. The Bend Fire Department has contacted The State Fire Marshall, Oregon State Police and the Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms Agency.
The Bend Police Department is investigating.
