Kids Survive Accident, Lose Mother

A 26-year old Astoria mother died in a car crash in Pacific County Washington. Her two daughters , two and four, survived the crash. State Troopers believe the four-year old pulled the younger sister from the wreck and comforted her for hours until the accident was discovered by two men the next morning. The scene was hidden behind a layer of trees. Both young girls were air lifted to a Portland hospital, where the four-year old was treated and discharged. The two-year old is a different story, she has a possible collapsed lung and broken legs. The crash was along Highway 401 near Naselle, Washington.
