Apparently Common Sense Isn't So Common...

What in the world is going on in the schools?  Just after Christmas we heard the story of the little kid kicked out for unholstering a finger gun…you know…index finger out, thumb up and go “Bang!”.  Then days after that, a little girl got the boot for using her “hello kitty” plastic gun that shoots soap bubbles…again kicked out of school.  The parents of both got lawyers, and I’m sure the taxpayers are getting the bill.  Today from Colorado comes the story of Alex Evans…all of seven years old…who was playing “Save the World” with his buddies. He made an imaginary hand grenade and threw it…and the rocket scientists who run his elementary school threw Alex right out.  And today, they’re defending their actions pointing out that even imaginary weapons are banned.  If this is the level of decision making and common sense running our schools, folks, we’re in big trouble.  Frankly I think we should put these administrators to work at something that fits their intellect…like basket weaving…and let Alex and his friends go back to saving the world.
