Mainstream Media Malarkey
I wonder about the priorities of the mainstream media every day. This morning the big story is that an NFL football player told a comic that Gay players aren’t welcome in the locker room. Not really surprising, is it? I’ll bet an anonymous poll of straight players would find that they’re not any more enthusiastic about welcoming a homosexual than the cheerleaders would be about showering with linebackers. TV and radio is giving it a lot of attention. At the same time…the President’s choice for secretary of defense, Chuck Hagel, is undergoing confirmation in the Senate. Hagel once complained about a new ambassador who he said “was aggressively gay”. I’m willing to bet that none of the major media raise that one at all. And which is more significant…the comments of a football player or the man who’s about to take over the most powerful military force on planet earth.
