This whole Manti Te’o situation appears to be getting weirder and weirder by the day.  First we think he’s a liar, then we think he’s a victim, then we think he’s an idiot.  It really is a situation that is beyond our comprehension.  So we got Gregg Doyel, one of the best columnists in the country, to join us on Flight 750 and try to bring some clarity to this whole, bizarre situation.

And he continued with this:

“Up until today it was bad enough that you fell in love with a women that didn’t exist.  Imagine after the country’s been laughing at you for that for about nine days and on the 10th day it turns out it was a guy pretending to be a girl.  I mean…It just gets worse.”

Whether or not you side entirely with Doyel, you can probably agree that it is unfair the way Te’o has been crucified by the court of public opinion before he got a chance to make his case.

Take a listen to the interview and be sure to look for Doyel’s columns every week for CBSSports.
