Meet the NFL's newest head coach. Chip Kelly is leaving the University of Oregon after four seasons to become the new coach of the Philadelphia Eagles.
Kelly interviewed with the Eagles for nine hours after the Ducks' Fiesta Bowl win. He also talked with Cleveland and Buffalo. The 49-year-old coach was reportedly staying in Eugene before an about face.
He leaves with five years left on his contract at Oregon, where he was 46-7. Chip made a base salary of $2.8 million this past season.
Terms of his deal with the Eagles are undisclosed. This is Kelly's first NFL coaching gig.
