Two people lost their lives in falls from Portland apartment buildings just hours into 2013.
Friends of a man say he was high on mushrooms at a New Year's Eve party and suddenly jumped from the 11th floor of the Lovejoy Fountain Tower near SW 4th and Lincoln. He's identified as 21-year-old Nicholas Sylvester.
A woman fell six stories from the Enso Apartments at NW 14th and Marshall. Officers spoke to those attending a party there. They say 19-year-old Brittany Hickert of Cornelius fell in an accident or suicide.
