With the Rain Comes Land Slides

Slide on Hwy. 30 near the St. Johns Bridge
The soil is saturated from all our rain and the terrain, mostly loose rocks and mud, are crumbling down on several roads and highways.
A land slide on Highway 30 near the St. Johns Bridge partially closed the road. A tree fell and sent 50 to 100 cubic yards of dirt crumbling onto the highway.
A debris slide on River Road South sent about 20 truck loads of rock and mud onto the roadway.
Highway 101 was closed north of Florence while crews cleared a downed tree.
A huge boulder rolled onto the Florence-Eugene Highway.
Highway 20 was also damaged following a land slide on the shoulder near the Yaquina River.
