Officers handcuffing a suspect
A gang of young homeless people were arrested in downtown Portland, accused of attacking a food cart vendor near Southwest 3rd and Stark.
Police say the owner of Persian Plate was upset with the group after the gas line of a neighboring food cart was cut. He wasn't hurt in the fight.
Officers recovered a pocket knife from the transients. Other food cart owners say the group has tried to break into their businesses as well.
Six people between 18 and 25-years-old were arrested. Tatiana Gutierrez, Zachary Lloyd, Mathew Juniper, James Paine, Matthew Koontz and Samuel Hambrick face charges of assault, harassment, menacing, and disorderly conduct.
