Seahawks Claw Out Victory Against Bears

Russell Wilson leads the Seahawks on two late-game drives, one in the 4th quarter and one in overtime, as Seattle defeats the Chicago Bears 23-17 at Soldier Field.

Trailing 14-10 with 3:40 remaining in the game, Wilson drove the Seahawks 97-yards down the field, culminating in a 14-yard touchdown catch to Golden Tate to give Seattle a 17-14 lead.


With only 24 seconds remaining, the game seemed in hand for Seattle until Bears' QB Jay Cutler threw a 56-yard bomb to Brandon Marshall on the first play that put Chicago down at the Seattle 30. Robbie Gould would knock through the tying field goal as time expired.

Seattle won the coin toss, received the ball first in overtime, and would not give it back.

Russell Wilson lead the team on another game-winning drive, this time a 12-play, 79-yard drive that ended with Sidney Rice falling into the endzone for the touchdown after taking a hit that appeared to knock him out cold.



A lengthy review was held for the play, but the ruling on the field stood as a touchdown and Seattle won their 2nd road game of the season.

The Seahawks improve to 7-5 on the year and remain in possession of the second wildcard spot in the NFC.

Wilson completed 23 of his 37 pass attempts for 293 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Marshawn Lynch added 87 yards and a touchdown on the ground on only 19 carries.

Seattle returns to Century Link next weekend to host division-rival Arizona.
