When Scott Phillips' son was diagnosed as autistic two years ago, he set out looking for help. What he found was very little information geared toward fathers and their unique perspective on the issue. So the filmmaker set about putting together his first documentary, seeking out other fathers with varying experience in dealing with autistic children. He found four, interviewed them, went through hours of home video footage, and came away with Do It Differently, a one-hour documentary on fathers and kids with autism. It will premiere tonight at the Portland Center for Performing Arts, with all four fathers and Scott Phillips taking part in a panel discussion afterwards.
