What should voters make of Mitt Romney’s recent comments that 47% of Americans believe the government has a responsibility to care for them. The simple answer is no, the government does not have a responsibility to Care for Americans.
We are a compassionate country that provides ample government and private charity for those who are incapacitated by genetics, or disease or disability. Governor Romney overstated the facts when he said that all Obama voters are dependent on government.
Or that all of those on government assistance will vote for the Democrat, or that none of those taking Government benefits will vote for Romney. But there is some truth in what he says. This is the path to national bankruptcy.
Those on public support during a brief transition between jobs or facing tough circumstances who plan to get off it quickly know who they are. Those who are dependent on it with no real plan to get off it will likely vote for a democrat who promises more...
Candidate Romney has promised to push for the maximum of personal liberty for all…and that means opportunity.
Candidate Obama has promised that government programs, government jobs and trillion dollar deficits are the path to prosperity.
This November we will find out how many people believe that’s where America should go.
