July is National Blueberry Month. They're more popular than ever. Here's a way to use up some of your fresh-picked blueberries to make a great summer slow sipper that uses these antioxident rich berries. The Blues Cooler helps you get down!

Ingredients: 1 cup of fresh blueberries, 2oz. gin, 3/4 oz. fresh lime juice, 1oz. blueberry syrup, ice cubes.

Blueberry Syrup: 1 cup white sugar, 1 cup water, 1 cup fresh blueberries-lightly crushed.

Preparation: (syrup) Put all syrup ingredients into a saucepan, cook over medium-high heat. Stir until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and allow to cool. Strain into a bottle and refrigerate.

To make the drink: Add gin, blueberry syrup, lime juice and 8 ice cubes into a shaker. Shake and strain into a cocktail glass. Put 3 blueberries on a toothpick and add for garnish.
