Washington Woman Found with 24 Pounds of Meth

LANE COUNTY, Ore. – A woman was pulled over for speeding on I-5 near Eugene, when the Oregon State Trooper saw some criminal activity.

Springfield PD was called and brought a drug detection canine, who found a hidden compartment in the car.

The compartment had around 24.4 pounds of crystal methamphetamine.

Two Alarm Fire Nearly Destroys Apartment

PORTLAND, Ore. – The apartments on SE 92nd Avenue caught fire, windy conditions causing it to grow quickly.

When fire crews got there, they faced heavy smoke pouring from one side of the two story building. The commander saw the winds were causing the fire to grow fast, and called for a second alarm.

Man Dies in Roll-Over Crash

LINN COUNTY, Ore. – The early morning fatal crash happened on Richardson Gap Road, east of Scio Saturday.

Police say 40-year-old Gabriel Ceboll was driving north on Richardson Gap Road, when he lost control after driving off the shoulder.

Ceboll’s van rolled several times, coming to rest on it’s wheels.

Portland Passes Anti-Fossil Fuel Resolution

PORTLAND, Ore.- A nation wide effort to curve fossil fuel use was front and center in Portland at Wednesday night’s city council meeting.

The council passed a resolution proposed by Mayor Charlie Hales and backed by Commissioner Amanda Fritz. The resolution makes the city actively oppose all new projects that would increase the amount of oil transported by rail through the city limits.

Helicopter Crashes During Christmas Tree Harvest

SHERIDAN, Ore. – A helicopter crashed while doing Christmas tree harvesting on Highway 22.

Witnesses say there was some kind of engine failure causing the pilot, Blane Hayes of Applebee Aviation, to lose control.

The helicopter spun around as it plunged to the ground, damaging the rear tail section as well as the landing skids.
