Adapted from a recipe in Garden & Gun Magazine. This is a spicy, citrus flavored libation that combines some unusual ingredients. Bartenders: Gabriel Orta & Elad Zvi, The Broken Shaker at Freehand Miami

2 oz. Silver tequila
1 oz. spicy syrup
¾ oz. lime juice, plus lime wheels

The REAL, Classic Mint Julep

Here’s an antebellum version that’s close to the early-nineteenth-century Southern julep, historically made with cognac and rum instead of bourbon, which includes a touch of sorghum syrup in place of simple syrup for an extra hit of flavor

Washington’s Mule

Spirited applejack adds a splash of Americana to this peppery take on the traditional Moscow Mule. (From Imbibe Magazine)
Ingredients:
1 1/2 oz. applejack
1/2 oz. fresh lime juice
3 dashes Angostura bitters
Ginger beer
Garnish: lime wedge

Preparation:
Combine all ingredients, except ginger beer, and shake with ice. Strain into an ice-filled glass, top with ginger beer and garnish.
