Salem, Oregon – Classic TV cowboy James Drury is making an appearance at the Oregon State Fair through Monday signing autographs. Fair spokeswoman Amber Lindsey says Drury grew up in Salem and is coming back to his roots. His appearance helps celebrate his 80th birthday.
Drury starred in The Virginian which aired on NBC for nine seasons, ending in 1971. It was one of the first TV Western to run for an hour and a half.
