ALBANY — A woman who was driving a stolen car and pointed a gun at officers was shot early Thursday morning.

Police tried to pull her over on Interstate 5 in Springfield.  She got past spike strips and took the Highway 34 exit.  The woman drove into the parking lot of Jackson’s Chevron gas station, got out of her car and headed for the entrance with what appeared to be a handgun.

A Springfield Police officer shot 44-year-old Amanda Gatewood.  She was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
