Shoes inspired by crawfish are boiling hot on the bayou. And Nike hopes they’ll catch on everywhere.

A 19-year-old skateboard shop employee from Baton Rouge designed them for Nike. Boiled crawfish, a Louisiana favorite was the inspiration.

“It has a bunch of red with maroon speckled suave”¬†reminiscent of an actual boiled crawfish. Designer Hunter Hullin says he put silver patches on the toes to evoke a shining pot. Along with quilted yellow leather to represent the corn that often goes along with crawfish.

The shoes sold out in hours at the skate shop. They go on sale nationwide this weekend.
