Vancouver. Wash. — Bad news is heading to your mailbox if you’re a parent in Washington. Within the next week, Washington parents will be getting the letter. Their child’s school is failing when it comes to the states math and reading tests.
But they should also know nearly every school in Washington is in the same boat. That’s because to get a pass. 100% of the schools students needed to do well on the states tests. Steve Webb the superintendent of Vancouver told the Columbian he’s proud of progress his students are making but there is still work to do.
As part of No Child Left Behind districts have to explain the fail. Many districts in southwest Washington are localizing the letter.
