Portland, Ore. — A case of mistaken identity has gone viral. A picture of a Portland teen accused of murder is confused for the teenager killed in Ferguson, Missouri.

You may have seen it on Facebook or twitter. A picture of a black teenager. He is pointing a gun at the camera with a stack of money in his mouth. People have been sharing the photo and saying it Michael Brown. It’s actually a Sunset High School grad named Joda Kain. He’s in jail in Portland awaiting trial. He and his cousin are accused of killing their great grandmother last year.

One of the many people who posted this photo was an officer in Kansas City. A tv station there is reporting that the cop, Marc Catron shared the photo his the caption. “I’m sure Michael Brown is innocent and just misunderstood. I’m sure he is a pillar of the Ferguson community.”

FB post

His post was shared more than a thousand times, which got the attention of his police station. He’s now facing an internal review.
