Sandy, Oregon – Four people are dead after a single car crash north of Sandy early today. The accident happened on SE Lusted Road at SE Huston Road just before 2:30 a.m. this morning. The car hit a tree and caught on fire.
The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office says a citizen was able to help one of the passengers in the back seat out of the car . But the driver and two others were not able to escape and were found dead inside the car. The passenger who was rescued was taken by Life Flight to a Portland area hospital where he died of his injuries.
A small dog escaped the burning car and ran from the crash scene. It was later found and rushed to an emergency veterinary hospital to be treated for burns and other injuries. The dog has a microchip which could help identify at least one of the people inside the car.
