Written by Anna Erickson on August 9, 2014

A man was reported threatening to shoot customers and employees at the Safeway on Northeast Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard Friday night.

Around 10:30, police learned that the suspect stole some merchandise from Safeway right before making the threats.  When officers got to the area, the man ran into the neighborhood.  The K-9 Unit was called in to help with the search.

The suspect, 19-year-old Ajyeman Eugene Rober-Warfield was then found and arrested.  Rober-Warfield is now in the Multnomah County Jail on charges of Theft in the Third Degree and Disorderly Conduct in the Second Degree.

Police didn’t see or find a gun.
