Written by Pat Boyle on August 1, 2014

Tualatin, Oregon – The annual Tualatin Crawfish Breakfast tomorrow will be in memory of Maddi Higgins. The West Linn High School junior and softball stand out was killed in a car crash in June. Her father Mike  says Maddi was a festival intern.

The breakfast runs from 7:45 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. tomorrow at Tualatin Community Park on SW Tualatin Road. It will be a fundraiser for the Maddi Higgins Memorial Scholarship Fund. The fund will help a deserving softball player pay for college.

Mike Higgins who serves as media contact for the festival says the event  ” probably saved my life this year to be honest.” He says they were right in the middle of planning the festival when Maddi had her accident. He says  “a lot of days have been hard.  The support from the City of Tualatin and their staff has been outstanding.  They understand what  I’ve gone through and have been really supportive.” Higgins says  “its been  uplifting this year for sure.”
