Portlanders love their tatoos. They’ve definitely become mainstream. Two of every five 30-somethings have tats.
Scottish researchers are finding that job candidates with tatoos usually ranked lower with employers, despite being equally qualified.
The study, reported by economist.com, was based on pictures shown to managers who hire. Some of the photos were altered, to include a neck tatoo. The obvious ink shocked some managers, especially those who hire people to work in customer service.
One market research firm says there’s been a 440% surge in tatoo removals in the past decade.
