Pastor Spends Week On Scissor Lift To Raise Money And Awareness

Written by Pat Boyle on July 24, 2014

ALBANY, Oregon — Pastor John Miller is halfway through his week 40′ above ground on a scissor lift along Highway 20.  The pastor from Albany First Assembly church is trying to raise money and awareness for three programs including one that helps sex trafficking victims.

He began his effort last Sunday and will wrap things up this Sunday at noon.  His goal is to raise $40,000.  He’s raised nearly $13,000 so far.  Donations can be made online or Pastor Miller will accept them the old fashioned way by lowering a bucket to the ground with a rope and hauling the donation back up to his perch.

He has dealt with this week’s rain by using tarps and a lot of zip ties.  He says “who would have thought the third week of July would be rainy and cold and windy?”
