Seattle, Washington – A Seattle Republican running for the State Senate says if she’s elected, she will propose an amnesty bill for people convicted of possessing pot. Sarina Forbes says “the law has changed; the people have spoken.”
Forbes says ” the consequence of having these convictions for simple possession which is what I am advocating for is that having the stigma of the arrest causes them a lot of harm to interact in society.” She says problems can range from difficulty finding housing to getting a job. She says they may also face higher insurance rates.
Forbes is trying to win election to Senate District 36.
