Hillsboro, Ore. — 22-year-old Kevin Toler has been arrested for breaking into a four-plex on Cornelius Pass Road. Toler’s accused of kicking in a wall and breaking into the adjoining apartment, stealing several guns and hiding in the attic.

People inside the home say they saw a man’s leg go through the ceiling. Police at the scene found an open gun case in the house. Believing the man was armed with the homeowner’s gun, they brought the tactical operations team in, causing Cornelius Pass Road near Tualitin Valley Highway to be closed for most of the afternoon and into the evening. After seven hours of using tear gas and a robot, officials didn’t find anyone inside the four-plex. T

oler was found and arrested right before midnight in a Cornelius home. Hillsboro Police Lt. Mike Rouches believes he was in the four-plex but escaped before police surrounded it. Toler has been lodged at Washington County Jail on charges of Burglary and Theft in the First Degree.
