PORTLAND, OR – Search crews have located a woman who was lost on a hike near Horsetail Falls in the Columbia River Gorge.
Jessica Wheeler was located in the Nesmith Point area early this morning, after a plane spotted a flashlight overnight. A helicopter used a heat sensing camera this morning and located a small campfire. Officials say she’s uninjured and cold but okay.
Wheeler left on a camping trip on Monday with her dog Sophie.
The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office says searchers covered more than 30 miles of trails looking for the 33-year-old from Wasco after she called for help Wednesday night. Sheriff Deputies located her car at the Oneonta Gorge Trailhead.
