Vancouver, WA. — Some retail pot shops could open as soon as tomorrow in Washington. Vancouver has two locations aiming for a Wednesday opening.
And Vancouver Police want to make sure that you know what’s illegal.
“Consuming marijuana in public places is against the law. That would be a park, your car, side walk. It is for private residence consumption only. That would even include opening a package of marijuana or a marijuana infused product.”
Kim Kapp with Vancouver Police Department says they’ve been in contact with the two shops opening and that parking is a concern.
“We certainly don’t want people lining up and blocking peoples driveways if they are in a retail location that has limited parking. They have to still be parking legally. Not blocking intersections, letting pedestrians have right of way and get through on the sidewalk.”
