PORTLAND – Things are going to get hot today.
The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for Northwest Oregon and Southwest Washington from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, with the highs expected to reach the mid 90s.
Even areas like the coast will see warmer than normal temperatures, with highs there expected in the 80s.
The record high for July 1st in Portland is 107 degrees, set back in 1965 at the airport.
The NWS says temperatures will drop back into the 80s on Wednesday and continue through the Fourth of July.
