A 45-year-old man was hit and killed by a car while crossing highway 99 during the busy evening commute. Police say the man was not in a crosswalk when he was struck by a Ford Mustang just south of Northeast 78th Street around 5:20 p.m. Rescue crews took the man to the hospital, but he died from his injuries shortly after arriving. The driver stayed at the scene and is not facing any charges. The Clark County Sheriff’s Office says this is at least the third time a crash like this has happened on this stretch of highway 99.
