Beaverton, Oregon -The Portland Winterhawks practice facility in Beaverton was flooded overnight after a downpour that dumped more than two inches of rain in Washington County.

The overhang and the  sidewalks slant toward the front doors of the practice facility, allowing the water to pool . The  general manager says they didn’t have sandbags, which maybe could have stopped it. But he credits his staff for doing the best they could.

Crews are using pumps to  remove the water from the ice rink along the Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway.   Warm air is being blown in at the same time. Clean up could take a day or two.
