BORING, Ore. — The funeral for 14-year-old Emilio Hoffman was held Sunday afternoon at Good Shepherd Community Church in Boring.  Hundreds came to pay tribute to the young teen.  Students from the school sang and they posted letters to Hoffman on the alter.

Mom, Jennifer Hoffman fought tears when she was given a Portland Timbers Team Jersey with Emilio’s name and his number 29 on it.  Emilio loved soccer.  He played four years on his current team.   He always wanted to win . He had a never quit mentality. He dreamed of being a business owner one day.

The Freshman was shot and killed by a fellow student in the  Reynolds High School gym locker room on June 10th. The shooter later turned the gun on himself and died at the scene.

Following Hoffman’s funeral the family held a private burial service at the Douglass Pioneer Cemetery in Troutdale.
