Ontario, Oregon – A man serving ten years behind bars for hiring a hit man to kill his estranged wife has died of prostate cancer that spread to the bone. 65 year old Michael Kuhnhausen Sr. was serving his time at the Snake River Correctional Institution in Ontario.

Back in 2006, his wife Susan came home from work and was attacked  by a man with a crow bar. She fought back and choked him to death.

Kuhnhausen was due to be released in September. His ex wife who now goes by the name Susan Walsh tells The Oregonian she doesn’t mourn his passing. “Instead, I mourn the life he could have had, if only he had opened his heart for those of us who cared about him.”
