BRIDAL VEIL — The westbound lanes of Interstate 84 were closed just past mile post 28 for more than three hours on Thursday afternoon because of a wreck involving three vehicles.
The driver of an SUV was stopped along the highway to change a flat tire and was partially sticking out into the left lane. A Honda CRV rear-ended the vehicle and rolled onto its side hitting the back of a tractor trailer.
The driver was trapped and seriously injured. Firefighters cut into the vehicle to rescue the person. They were flown by Life Flight helicopter to the hospital. Nobody else was hurt.
Traffic backed up well before Cascade Locks. All lanes were open around 4:00pm.
