The closed meeting wasn’t to revive the Columbia River Crossing, but to learn from the past, moving forward building relationships.
Oregon tried to go it alone after Washington declined to vote to pay their share of the Columbia River crossing, which would have replaced the I-5 Bridge. The outcome…they didn’t get enough votes and killed the project.
The next step is establishing a commission by both state governors. Finding a solution that is acceptable to both states is the common goal…if they can get a yes, Oregon and Washington will be working together.
