BEAVERTON, OR – Police have intervened, after finding a family living in filthy conditions inside an RV in Beaverton.

The parents of two girls have been arrested and cited for six counts of criminal mistreatment.  The girls, ages 12 and 7, have been sent to live with family.

The Oregonian reports an investigation began in March with reports from residents at an apartment complex that a family was living in a motor home on the side of the road.  When police caught up to the family, they found trash and human waste inside the RV.

The children were sent to live with relatives, while the parents were charged with criminal mistreatment and told to get things cleaned up.  When authorities determined that things hadn’t changed, they arrested the couple on Tuesday.
