Ellen DeGeneres Surprises OSU Students

Written by Christina Kemp on May 21, 2014

A lot of kids skipped class at Oregon State University this afternoon going after their shot to be on TV.

A tweet from the Ellen DeGeneres show caught the attention of hundreds of students who made their way to the quad this afternoon, dressed up as their dad.

“My dad loves his bathrobe, reads the paper every morning with my mom, rocks the big slippers. Classic. When I thought of my dad that’s totally what I thought of.”

Ellen showed up via satellite and got the crowd pumped for a scavenger hunt. Around campus her team hid envelopes of cash, prizes ranging from 500 to 10 thousand dollars.

“We participated in the scavenger hunt, dressed up, and got to be on TV a little bit.”

If you want to catch the segment and see if your student struck it rich it will be on Ellen’s show the 28th.
