West Linn – A soldier who served in Afghanistan and was awarded a Bronze Star is now missing that medal. Police say it was in a backpack in the trunk of his car near Tanner Creek Park in West Linn.  The theft happened during the night between Wednesday and Thursday. The police department is asking people who live in  the area to check their yards and garbage cans to see if they can spot the stolen backpack. If its found, call West Linn police and they will send an officer to pick it up.

The backpack is in  an Army Combat Uniform pattern. Inside are a binder that contains photos, official documents, a letter from the President and the Bronze Star he was awarded on his last tour of Afghanistan.

There have been several car prowls in the area in the last two weeks.
