Albany, Ore. — Neighbors in Albany have their guard up after two violent crimes within a few blocks of each other.

Detectives are looking for an attacker in a sexual assault on SE 18th.  Just a few blocks away from there there was a murder on  15th AVE.  Jamie Thomas is terrified after hearing a woman was assaulted in her former apartment complex neighbors are beginning to move out and she’s thinking about it.

Investigators say the bad guy had a gun.  He got onto the balcony through an open door. No arrest has been made.

A ways down the street at the Brook Shore apartments an 8 year old called 9-1-1  his mother was shot and killed.  Police say the two crimes may not be related but they’re not ruling out anything right now.
