Missing: Two Thousand Railroad Ties

If you’ve ever used railroad ties in your lawn or garden, you might understand just how much work was involved in stealing 2,000 of them.  The rail ties were stacked along the Central Oregon and Pacific tracks in Southern Oregon.

According to Joe Nealon with Pac West Lumber, each of those ties could weigh between 170 and 225 pounds, depending on the type of wood.  He also says whoever stole them may have used a forklift and flatbed truck.

The Grants Pass Daily Courier reports the thefts occurred sometime between last October and April.  They were reported recently,
