PORTLAND — How fitting that on their 30th anniversary, the One More Time Around Again Marching Band will represent the city as Grand Marshal of the Rose Festival’s signature event, the Grand Floral Parade on June 7th.
The band is 540 members strong and made up of mostly former high school marching band members from age 19 to 87. They’re best known for their rendition of the 1963 hit “Louie Louie”.
“It is the highest possible honor a marching band can receive to be named the Grand Marshal of this incredible parade within this famous festival. The band is humbled by this honor, deeply touched by the Rose Festival’s faith in us, and thrilled beyond description,” said Diane Milemann, President of the OMTAAMB.
They’re playing a free concert to celebrate their anniversary on Saturday, May 17th at Pioneer Courthouse Square from 3:00-4pm.
