Strap on the Sunglasses Folks

April 30th was a record breaking day around Oregon. Newport on the Central Oregon coast reached 86 degrees,  its warmest April day ever.

The old record was 84 degrees set back on April 29th, 1900. Other cities breaking records include Salem which got up to 86 degrees, beating the old high of 83 set in 2004. McMinnville and Astoria also broke records. McMinnville got up to 85 on Wednesday, beating a high of 84 reached in 1998.

Astoria topped out at 84, blowing past the old record of 75 set in 2004. Eugene also had a day for the record books, reaching 82 degrees. The old high was 81 which was set back in 2004. Portland reached a high of 83 yesterday, which was not a record.
